Big Little Duvet Co. Ltd. is run by Sue Tailford and Julia Bean and is located near Darlington. The company was born out of Sue's frustration with her teenage sons' small single duvets. Her sons were waking up cold every night due to the lack of width and length in the standard single duvet. Sue found a UK manufacturer to create a larger single duvet (165cm x 220cm) to give the sleeper full coverage and a stylish appearance.
The extra-large single duvet was initially designed for adults sleeping in single beds, but Julia's experience in Scandinavia where couples slept with two individual duvets on a king-size bed inspired the company to introduce this concept to the UK market.
