Welcome to the story of Hayloft, a journey that began at Yvonne's kitchen table in the converted barn known as 'The Hayloft' near Pershore, Worcestershire. The birth of Yvonne's first child inspired the creation of a project that could keep her busy at home while allowing quality time with her daughter.
As Hayloft sprouted from this homegrown beginning, Yvonne's vision surpassed all expectations. In 1994, Yvonne's son arrived, marking a period of growth and strength for Hayloft.
The growth soon required additional hands, leading to the joining of Harriet in 1994. With both mothers handling office activities and plant packing, their collaboration flourished. The children, both Yvonne's and Harriet's, added a lively dimension to the mix.
In 2002, after successful sales of Edward Wilson’s Pensham Penstemon, Yvonne and Harriet acquired a nursery and offices at Manor Farm in Pensham. The space was a marvel, providing room for Hayloft to thrive.
Over the years, Hayloft continued to expand. Acquiring two more nurseries, Sandilands and Hollyoak, demonstrated their commitment to offering an extensive range of plants. The team grew as well, now boasting over 30 dedicated individuals.
Today, Hayloft operates exclusively at Hollyoak Nursery, where a purpose-built packing shed with offices complements the large greenhouse. The entire nursery embodies an environmentally conscious ethos – solar-powered, heated with a ground source heat pump, and equipped with rainwater collection for targeted irrigation, minimising waste.
From Yvonne's kitchen table to Hollyoak Nursery, the Hayloft story is a testament to passion, growth, and a commitment to the environment. Welcome to Hayloft – where the love for plants and nature flourishes.
